Yves Baril, Canadian master engraver created the Eagle during his apprenticeship at the American Bank Note Company. It is a smaller version of a 19th century US banknote vignette with "Y Baril" hidden to the left of the base of the rock. The bridge is a scene from Mexico, and a proposed design for the back of a five peso note. The Cargo vignette is typical of engravings used on stock certificates. Each vignette is centered on an 8 x 6" archival card.
