Could McKinley have imagined that less than 20 years after his friend and commanding officer in the Civil War (Garfield) was shot, that he would end up another martyred president. 55.00

More Intaglio Cards

These were printed in the early to late 90's in editions of 1,000 prints each, by several different printing companies from hand engraved steel dies I purchased from engravers. Intaglio advertising Lennox Salt Box House

"The Old Oaken Bucket" REPRINT featuring the Roger's homestead. "This engraving shows the present (1905) condition of one of the oldest houses in Connecticut..." The Roger's homestead  is a lovely salt box house built c.1650. Alonzo Chappel's E. K. Kane, American arctic explorer

Chappel was a popular and prolific American artist of the 19th century whose works were published in oversized books which included intaglio engraved renditions of his paintings along with history and biography. These large books, published in the 1860's-70's, centering on American history from the Revolutionary War thru the Civil War. This series contains over 120 different large intaglio portraits, and are in fine old original condition. 100 different, including presidents, poets and military leaders, for $195.
